Robert "Rob" Charles Tvedte (known to many as "Tweeter") passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 30, 2024, at the age of 52. He was born on February 1, 1972, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, to Craig and Sevilla (Belken) Tvedte, and graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1990.
Rob was the proud owner and operator of Tweeter Contracting, where his strong work ethic, determination, and willingness to help others earned him the respect of many. In recent years, he also took great pride in driving a bus for Spirit Lake Community Schools, where he built lasting connections with students and staff alike.
Rob’s true passion was racing—especially sprint car racing. From a young age, he was drawn to the speed, skill, and excitement of the sport. For many years, he lived his dream behind the wheel, racing with the same determination and intensity he brought to every part of his life. His love for sprint car racing went far beyond the track; it was a bond he shared with friends and family, and he was always ready to share stories from his racing days. His passion for the sport was contagious, and whether in the pit or cheering from the stands, Rob’s enthusiasm for racing was undeniable.
An adrenaline junkie, Rob also loved motorcycling, boating, camping, and cranking up the music at full volume. Whether it was going on snowmobile trips to new places or vacations with friends and family, He was always seeking out new adventures that brought excitement and joy. Whether he was showing off his dance moves, whipping up delicious meals, or simply being the life of the party, Rob’s magnetic personality and infectious energy made every moment memorable. He had a rare gift for bringing people together, lighting up every room he entered, and being a true friend to so many.
But what made Rob truly unforgettable was his endless sense of humor. He had a gift for making others laugh and was always quick with a joke, a funny story, or a well-timed one-liner. He had a way of making people feel at ease with his infectious laughter and lighthearted spirit. Whether he was cracking jokes at gatherings or pulling pranks with his friends, Rob’s ability to find humor in every situation was one of the
things that made him so special. He could brighten anyone’s day, no matter how dark it might have seemed, with just a few words or a mischievous grin.
Above all, Rob’s greatest pride and joy were his children, Brock and Josie. His love for them was boundless and unconditional. Rob dedicated himself fully to being a great father, always making sure they knew how much they meant to him. Whether it was cheering them on at events, offering advice, or simply spending time together, Rob’s bond with Brock and Josie was unwavering. He was their biggest fan and fiercest supporter, and he often said that being a father was the greatest achievement of his life. His love and pride for his children will live on in the stories, laughter, and lessons he shared with them.
Rob’s big heart, sense of humor, and zest for life touched everyone around him. He lived life fully—he loved big, laughed big, and made everyone feel special. He was the first to offer a helping hand, the first to crack a joke, and the first to lend his support to those who needed it.
Rob is survived by his children, Brock Tvedte and Josie Tvedte; his extended family; countless friends; and his loyal lab, Lucy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Craig and Sevilla Tvedte.
Rob will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those whose lives he touched. His love for his children, his passion for racing, and his endless humor will never be forgotten.
