A memorial service for Roger Wiese, age 79, of Milford, will be held Monday, January 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. Visitation will begin one hour prior the service at the funeral home.
Roger Lee Wiese, the son of Emma (Boyens) and Henry Wiese, was born August 30, 1937 in Audubon, Iowa. After graduating from high school, Roger enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1954 and served as Sergeant until his honorable discharge in 1958.
On June 11, 1960, Roger was married to Karen (Olsen) Wiese in Nashua, Iowa. The couple moved to Milford, Iowa where Roger owned and operated Amoco Service Station for thirty-three years.
Roger enjoyed owning and racing sprint cars, watching NASCAR and loved snowmobiling. He especially liked feeding his squirrels and birds and even hand fed his special squirrel "Peanut". He loved maintaining the Dickinson County trails and parks and made many friends along the way. He was a past commander of the American Legion Post 384 and a member of the Milford Fire Department nearly 20 years
Roger passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 at his home in Milford at seventy-nine years of age.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Wiese of Milford; two sons, Michael Wiese and Gregg Wiese and his special friend Gloria.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Merlin and Amos; sister, Inez and in-laws, Reese and Lois Olsen.
