Ronald Menough

Funeral Services for Ronald Menough, age 81, of Spirit Lake will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:30am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 10:30-11:30am at the church. Interment will be at Lakeview Gardens Cemetery.

Ronald Menough, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother died suddenly and peacefully Monday May 27, 2024, at his home in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

Ron was born on May 14, 1943, in Boone, Iowa, to parents John and Marie Menough. Ron attended Boone High School where he met Barbara (Meyers) Menough. They married on August 12, 1961. Soon after they were married, they moved to St. Paul, Minnesota where they lived for eleven years. In 1974 they moved to Lakeville, Minnesota where they lived in the same home for forty-seven years. They moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa in 2021, shortly before Barbara and Ronald celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Ron enjoyed many outdoor activities and adventures with his family including hunting, camping, motorcycle trips, and numerous sporting activities.

Ron is survived by his four children, Ronald (Kathy) Menough, Susan Walz, Daniel (Ivonne) Menough and Melissa (Chris) Spadanuda, eleven grandchildren, Matthew Menough, Becca (Chris) Bachman, Jonah (Sarah) Menough, Kylie (Dennis) Williams, Keagan (Brooke) Walz, Alexia Walz, Karelly Valenzuela, Kazhmyr Menough, Danyel Menough, Logan Spadanuda, Nico Spadanuda and eight great-grandchildren, William, Lilly and Jade Bachman, Leora Williams, Amelia Menough, Atticus and Iverson Walz and a future great-daughter, Shiloh Williams due in July and his sister, Karla Alban andbrothers Jerry Menough and John Menough. He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara, father John Menough, mother Marie Menough, and sisters Judy Menough and Karen Cunnington.
