Roxana T. Houge

Roxana T. Houge was born February 26, 1923 in Jefferson City, Missouri, the daughter of Sherman and Susan (Reeves) Tripplett. Roxana was united in marriage to Emmet Resh in 1940. Emmet passed away in 1946. She was then united in marriage to Elmer Houge in 1948. The family lived in the lakes area for most of their lives. Roxana enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and loved to watch golf. She attended the Lutheran Church. She loved her children and did all she could to meet the needs of eight children, going to Sunday School was very important to her. She was excellent at her job of employment and her home. Roxie loved reading, especially the Bible, which she had completed several times. She prayed for her family that each one would accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Roxana passed away on April 3, 2008 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa at eighty-five years of age. She is survived by her son, David Resh; daughters, Shirley Resh, Nancy Weiland, Diana Buhr, Sheryl Downing, Angela Houge and Patty Arnald; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmet Resh, their daughter, Sandra Resh; second husband, Elmer Houge; brothers, Basil Tripplett and Sylvanas Tripplett; sisters, Hazel Anderson, Arleva Schull and Losie Triplett.
