Sadie Adams, 104, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake. Sadie Adams was born July 13, 1908, the daughter of George and Betty (Kuper) Mori, in Waterford Township, Everly, Iowa. She attended a rural school near her home. Sadie was united in marriage to Harold Adams on August 5, 1940, in Sioux City, Iowa. Following their marriage, the couple farmed northwest of Everly until moving to a farm near Spirit Lake in the mid-forties. Harold was killed in a traffic accident on July 28, 1992. She continued to live on the farm until moving to Hilltop Care Center in 2004. Sadie was baptized at Cromwell Center Evangelical Church, in rural Clay County, in 1909. Sadie was very kind and thoughtful to her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening and flowers and had a special love for her pets. Additionally, she loved living on the farm, helping Harold with the animals, especially the sheep. Sadie passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake at one hundred four years of age. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Clara Mori and Bertha Steuben, as well as brothers John and Lloyd Mori. She is survived by her nieces, Judy Blank and her husband, Cliff, of Nicollet, Minnesota, Bonnie Steuben of Mason City, Iowa, Jolaine Toombs and her husband Bill of Alaska, Shirley Sorenson and her husband Robert, of Des Moines, Linda Aakhus and her husband, Larry of Lawton, Iowa and Betty Ann Steuben and her husband, Robert of Royal, Iowa; nephew, Dennis Mori of Omaha, Nebraska. Graveside services will be this Spring.
