Sharon Wintz

Funeral services for Sharon Wintz, 83, of Milford, will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji. Interment will be at Silver Lake Cemetery in Lake Park. Visitation will begin at 5 pm, Monday, June 19, 2017, with the family present from 5-7 pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. Sharon Corrine Wintz, the daughter of Leona Steffen Kreisel and Walter Kreisel, was born August 16, 1933 in Royal, Iowa. She graduated from Lake Park High School and completed her education at Mankato Business School. Sharon met William J. Wintz at the roller skating rink in Arnolds Park and were later united in marriage on March 15, 1953 in Lake Park, Iowa. Sharon and Bill made their home in Round Lake before moving back to the family farm in Milford, Iowa in 1980. Sharon enjoyed square dancing, bowling, gardening, baking and fishing. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sharon was a member of the Lutheran Church , LWML and the Legion Auxiliary. On June 16, 2017, Sharon passed way at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer, Iowa at eighty-three years of age. She is survived by her children, Brent Wintz (Charlene) of Round Lake, Minnesota, Scott Wintz of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Russell Wintz (Susanne) of Fridley, Minnesota and Shelby Wintz (Mike Brower) of Edina, Minnesota; grandchildren, Joshua Wintz, Jessica Thorne, Kyle Wintz, Kara Schmitz, Trevor Wintz and Evan Wintz; and great-grandchildren, Kindra, Clayton, Cru, Harper, Emelia, Avery, Owen, Sydney, Dominic, Calvin, Lucy and Leighton; one brother Dick (Marilyn), sisters Gwen, Pam, Rita (Keith), and Connie. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; one sister, Donnabelle and an infant son, Michael.
