Sheryl Donnenwerth

A funeral service for Sheryl Donnenwerth, age 61, of Spirit Lake, will be held Friday, May 1, 2015 at 10:30am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake. Burial will be at Lakeview Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 30, 2015 after 4:00pm with the family present from 5:00-7:00pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Sheryl Lynne Donnenwerth, the daughter of Beverly (DeLint) and Russel Stahly, was born July 28, 1953 in Worthington, Minnesota. She was baptized on September 20, 1953 at the Harris Methodist Church and later confirmed at the Concordia Lutheran Church on May 14, 1967. She graduated from Harris Lake Park High School. On June 30, 1973, Sheryl was united in marriage to Paul Stanly Donnenwerth in Lake Park, Iowa. The couple moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa in 1976 where Sheryl worked as a Deputy City Clerk of Okoboji. Sheryl's greatest love was spending time with her family and friends. She loved going on family vacations and golfing with friends. She also enjoyed music, sunsets, cocktails, gaming and flamingos. Sheryl was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake. Sheryl passed away unexpectedly April 28, 2015 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at sixty-one years of age. She is survived by her husband, Paul; daughter, Lisa Kristin Gonzales and her husband, Marco; son, Luke Allen Donnenwerth and his wife, Megan; grandchildren, Cole and Etta Donnenwerth and Justin, Jenyce, Jovanni and Julian Gonzales; mother, Beverly Stahly; brother, Mike Stahly; sister, Sue (Chris) McRae; mother-in-law, Audrey Donnenwerth; in-laws, JoAnn and Ken Carter, Mike and Mary Donnenwerth, Jerry and Laurie Donnenwerth and Amy and Troy Jurgens; and several nieces and nephews. Sheryl was preceded in death by her father, Russel Stahly; grandparents, Henry and Helen DeLint and Rudolph and Etta Stahly and father-in-law, Bill Donnenwerth.
