Steve Lynn Thorn

A memorial service for Steve Thorn, age 67, of Lake Park, will be held Monday, March 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park. Visitation will be on March 27th after 4:00pm with the family present from 4:00-6:00pm at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park. Stephen Lynn Thorn, the son of Virgil and Dorothy (Hitchen) Thorn, was born May 19, 1948, in Lake Park, Iowa. After graduating from Harris Lake Park High School, he graduated from Larson's School of Cosmetology. On January 7, 1973, Steve was united in marriage to Roberta Ann Christenson in Lake Park. They made their home in Lake Park where Steve worked as a beautician. For the past ten years, Steve worked as a Walmart associate. Steve was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Park where he had served as an elder, deacon and church treasurer. He was also a boy scout leader. Steve enjoyed camping and hiking Minnesota State Park, mostly Itasca and Lake Shetek. He liked crafts, cooking and loved to visit with people, as everyone that saw him at Walmart knows. Most of all, Steve loved spending time with his wife, son, daughters and grandchildren. He was a very proud husband, dad and papa. On March 22, 2016, Steve passed away at his home in Lake Park at sixty-seven years of age. He is survived by his wife, Roberta; son, Anthony (Tony); daughters, Angelisa (Lisa) Manwarren and Michelle Halvorson; grandchildren, Tollin Manwarren, Caitlyn Manwarren, Rileigh Halvorson, Chloe Manwarren, Kayleigh Halvorson and Gage Manwarren; mother, Dorothy Altena; sisters, Linda (Chuck) Redemski and Gloria Christenson; brothers-in-law, James Christenson and Marshall (Barb) Christenson; sisters-in-law, Joyce (Ken) Paulson and Leanna (Darrell) Hacker; eight nephews and eight nieces. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Thorn; in-laws, Clarence and Lillian Christenson; brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Bev Christenson; bother-in-law, Stanley Christenson.
