There will be a memorial gathering for Terry Cook, age 66, of Spirit Lake, on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Burial will be at Superior Cemetery at a later date.
Terry D. Cook was born June 4, 1951 at Spirit Lake, Iowa to Robert Cook and Ruth (Graesing) Cook. Terry graduated from Spirit Lake High School with the class of 1970.
Terry was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoying many good times hunting and fishing with his brother growing up. (The Cook Boys)
Terry married Tammy Tungland on August 21, 1977. "Tam" as Terry called her became his best fishing buddy and was the love of his life. Terry and Tam moved to Anchorage, Alaska in 1981. Terry was an exceptional general carpenter and finish carpenter gaining much recognition for his work throughout Alaska. One of the homes he built was featured in National Geographic.
Terry and Tam moved back to Iowa in 2001. Terry continued his carpenter work working for various Dickinson County contractors and engineering companies.
On October 19, 2017, Terry passed away at his home in Orleans, Iowa.
His is survived by his wife, Tammy; his mother, Ruth Cook; his brother, Durand Cook; and many other relatives and friends.
Terry was preceded in death by his maternal and fraternal grandparents and his father.
