Thora Elnora Robinson was born August 21, 1926 in Okoboji, Iowa, the daughter of Ural and Vivian (Davis) Cother.
On August 16, 1946, Thora was united in marriage to Forrest Robinson at the Methodist Church in Arnolds Park, Iowa. The family made their home on Upper Gar Lake and remained in that house for fifty-eight years. Thora worked as a waitress for many, many years at O'Farrell Sisters and most importantly was a devoted wife and loving mother. Her greatest pride and joy was sharing in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
Thora enjoyed watching sports, especially the Cubbies. She enjoyed nurturing struggling plants to health, caring and watching birds and tending to the needs of her dogs and cats. She liked going on rides around the lake, spending time with her sister, Nonda and going on lunch dates with her best friend, Colleen. She took great delight in watching her four great grandsons.
Thora passed away March 23, 2012 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa at eighty-five years of age.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Erickson and her husband, Jerry, of Terril, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Theresa of Arnolds Park; five grandchildren, Rhonda, Greg, Jennifer, Michelle and Kristi; four great-grandsons, Nile, Alex, Azaiah and Nolan; one sister, Nonda of Estherville, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Hazel of Spencer; many nieces and nephews, including her niece companion, Prudy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest; daughter, Judy; son, Jim; her parents, Ural and Vivian; sister, Leone and brother, Donald.
