Timothy L Kuiper

September 21, 1968 — October 19, 2013

Tim Kuiper went to "The Next Place" comfortably at his home October 19th, 2013, at the age of 45. Tim was born to Sue (Clark) Saxton and James Kuiper in September, 1968. He attended school in Spirit Lake, IA and grew up in Montgomery, IA, where he acquired a love of hunting, trapping and horses. Tim attended college at Southeast Area VoTech in Sioux Falls, SD. While living in Spirit Lake, IA, he met and married Michelle (Watts) (formerly of Spencer, IA) in a whirlwind courtship and they were married almost 23 years at the time of his passing. He was a dedicated employee of Howard R. Green Engineering Co. for over 25 years; starting in Spirit Lake, IA and later transferring to Sioux Falls, SD. Tim competed in Iowa High School Rodeos and spent many hours team roping at jackpots and South Dakota Rodeo Association events. His passion was team roping, until 2007, when their son Cade was born. Tim was a loving, devoted Dad; teaching his love of hunting, trapping and roping to Cade. He had the privilege of being a stay-at-home-Dad for a short while. He cherished that special time he was able to spend with Cade. Tim was a talented leather worker & welder; crafting tack for cowboys, barrel racers, show events and items for American Cancer Society fundraising. Tim was a strong, brave man having battled brain tumors and treatments for nearly 10 years. He was a dedicated friend, a man of his word and a hard worker. The world needs more men like him and he will be greatly missed. Tim was an organ and tissue donor, so will continue to live on through his generous donation. He is survived by his loving wife & son of Beresford, SD; Mother Sue of Spirit Lake, IA; Father Jim (Theresa) of Canton, SD; Grandmother Irene Kuiper, Windom, MN; Step-Grandmother Eunice Baird of Spirit Lake, IA; Brother Tom (Cindy) of Canton, SD; Niece Alexis Kuiper of Sioux Falls, SD; Nephew Tyler (Bridgette) Larson of Canton, SD; Nephew Trevor Larson of Canton, SD; Niece Tatum Larson of Canton, SD; Step-Brother Jason (Bethany) Saxton, Nephews Tobin & Oliver of Chicago, IL; Step-sister Lisa (Jeff) Thilges, Nieces Kayley, Shae & Cloee, Nephew Carter of Algona, IA; In-laws Bud & Jan Watts, Spencer, IA; Grandmother In-Law Bonnie Watts, Alta, IA; Brother-in-Law Marc Watts & Niece Brooklynn; Special Friends Kristen, Haylie & Dayton of Spencer IA; and many Uncles, Aunts, Cousins & Friends.
