Tony Rogers

There will be no formal services for Tony Rogers, age 72, of Spirit Lake. Tony passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at his home in Spirit Lake. Anthony Hugh Rogers, the son of Hughla (Aldridge) and Lawrence "Dick" Rogers, was born April 18, 1945 in Montebello, California. After graduation, Tony joined the United States Navy and served with the Navy Seabees during two tours in Vietnam. On November 16, 1980, Tony was united in marriage to Kathryn Howard Rogers in Gruver, Iowa. The couple moved to Spirit Lake where Tony worked as a cook at Tweeters and Spinnakers. He loved golfing, hunting, ice and open water fishing in his earlier years. He enjoyed playing cards and especially cherished his time with his family. Tony passed away January 7, 2018 at his home in Spirit Lake, Iowa at seventy-two years of age. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Rogers of Spirit Lake; daughter, Toni Marie Rogers; daughter, Sandra (Josh) Quirin; two sisters, one brother and his cat, Charlie. Tony was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jenny Pick and several aunts and uncles.
