Vernita Youde

Services for Vernita Youde, 95, of Nobelsville, Indiana and formerly of Spirit Lake, will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Harbor of Joy Lutheran Church in Milford. Visitation will begin at 5 pm Friday, November 4, 2016 with the family present from 5-7 pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. Vernita Kaythryn Youde, the daughter of Emma (Berg) and Soren Madsen, was born June 25, 1921 in Royal, Iowa. She graduated from Royal High School in 1939. On June 29, 1941, Vernita was united in marriage to Robert O. Youde in Royal. She lived in Newell, Spencer, Hartley and Spirit Lake before retiring in Mesa, Arizona. Vernita was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, the church circle and attended the Lutheran Church. Vernita enjoyed watching sports, cooking, playing cards, boating but especially loved her time with her children and grandchildren. Vernita passed away October 30, 2016 at the Riverwalk Village in Noblesville, Indiana at ninety-five years of age. She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Robert) Wiese of Queen Creek, Arizona; two sons, James (Ronda) Youde of Noblesville, Indiana and Jon (Cathy) Youde of Omaha, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Terry (Sharon) Wiese, Tammy Hall, Tim (Jodi) Wiese, Erik (Julie) Youde and Kathryn (Jeff) Bohnenkamp; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler and Emilee Wiese, Aaron Wiese, Michelle Kathryn Youde, Fletcher and Julius Bohnenkamp and Jay and Emma Wiese; sisters, Ruth Paulsen and Maxine Whatley; several other relatives and friends. Vernita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert in 1997; brothers-in-law, Ray Fitchett, Les Whatley and Herman Paulsen.
