Virgil Marchand

A memorial service for Virgil Marchand, 86, of Milford, will be held Friday, October 27, 2017 at 10:30 AM at First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji. Burial will be at Milford Cemetery in Milford. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pheasants Forever at www.pheasantsforever.org . Virgil Marchand, a great husband, father and friend passed away October 23, 2017 due to complications from bladder cancer. Preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers and 2 sisters. Survived by his wife of 66 years, Delores; son Mike, sisters MaryAnn Christensen, Darlene Jorth and many nieces and nephews. Virg joined the Navy in March 1951 and was honorably discharge in March 1955. He worked at Eatons, McQuays, was custodian at Milford School, worked in construction and was owner of The Gun Shop in Milford. He loved fishing, hunting and was an all-around sports lover, especially football and was a longtime member of Pheasants Forever.
