Wayne Goetsch

A memorial service for Wayne Goetsch, age 76, of Spirit Lake, will be held Monday, April 8, 2019 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Wayne Marvin Goetsch was born February 16, 1943, the son of Elmer Albert and Hilda Anna (Probst) Goetsch, in Terril, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Spirit Lake. Wayne was united in marriage to Sandra Burley on October 9, 1962 in Spirit Lake. The couple made their home in Spirit Lake, where they raised their children, Mark and Tracy. Wayne worked as a drywall taper. He enjoyed nature and the outdoors, especially trapping, hunting and yard work. He also enjoyed car restoration, and attending his grandchildren's sports and activities. Wayne could often be heard singing and whistling. Wayne passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at his home in Spirit Lake at seventy-six years of age. He is survived by his wife, Sandra of Spirit Lake; children Mark Goetsch of Spirit Lake and Tracy Tvedte of Arnolds Park; grandchildren, Tanner, Travis and Tyler Goetsch, and Brock and Josie Tvedte; sister, Debra Letscher (George); sister-in-law, Irene Goetsch; other family and numerous nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Hilda (Probst), sister, Dorothy Tenney and her husband, Lakin, and brothers, Larry Goetsch, and his wife, Alice, Robert Goetsch and Rick Goetsch.
