The family of Wendell Williams invites you to join them to share in the memory of his life and the grief of his passing. There will be an informal, come and go visitation on Saturday November 17th from 10-Noon at Union Memorial Church in Milford. A formal memorial service and celebration of his life will be held December 8, 2012 at Okoboji High School Auditorium in Milford at 11 am A memorial fund which will benefit Milford Kiwanis and the Grand Canyon Association, has been established. Wendell Noel Williams was born July 12, 1947 in Spirit Lake, Iowa to Noel John and Jessie Naomi (Northey) Williams. Wendell received his Bachelor's in Business Administration from Morningside College and did Master's coursework in Agricultural Economics from Iowa State University. He married Christy Ann Hagberg on February 23, 1974 in Ames, Iowa. Wendell was a farmer and also worked for Iowa State Extension Service and the Iowa Farm Business Association. He was a lifelong resident of Milford, Iowa. He was a member of Union Memorial Church in Milford, the Kiwanis Club of Milford, and Farmers Savings Bank board, He was a former board member of the Iowa Great Lakes Cooperative Elevator and Union Memorial Church. Wendell enjoyed hiking, traveling, vegetable and fruit gardening, home-brewing, reading, working on his model railroad, singing as a soloist and member of many community choirs. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and giving back to the community whenever he could. Wendell passed away November 13, 2012 at a Sioux Falls hospital at sixty-five years of age. He is survived by his wife, Chris; daughters, Jennifer and Emily; son, Ryan, son-in-law, Andrew; granddaughter, Brynn; brother, Ron; sisters, Jean, Ann, Ruth and Margaret; and a large extended family. Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, Noel and Jessie; brothers, Tom and Paul; sisters, Lela and Mary.
