Wilbert H. "Bud" Thee was born October 22, 1922 in May City, Iowa, the son of John, Sr. and Mathilda (Bieldfelt) Thee. He was raised on the family farm near May City and attended Harrison Township School.
Bud was united in marriage to Mildred Leth on November 23, 1944 in Worthington, MInnesota. Bud loved and operated the Thee family farm in May City until 1967, when they moved to Algona, IA where he worked for Cargill-Nutrena Feed Division. He retired from Cargill in 1986. He and Millie settled in Spirit Lake to enjoy the Okoboji area.
Bud was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Spirit Lake. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, card playing, dancing and getting together with family and friends.
Bud passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake, Iowa at eighty-seven years of age.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Millie, of Spirit Lake; children, Doug Thee and his wife Kathy of Lenoir, North Carolina, Pam Thee of Spirit Lake and Jeff Thee and his wife Cathy of Spirit Lake; grandchildren, Brian (Laura) Thee, Troy and Tonya Thee, Tara and Kim Ford and Reghan Thee; step grandchildren, Ashley and Lacey Heikens; great-grandchildren, Ariel Ford-Loosier, Jennifer Thiesfeld and Emille Thee; sisters, Louise (Delmer) Menke and Celia Adolf, several nieces and nephews and and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Thee, Sr and Mathilda Thee, siblings Ann, Velma, Minnie, Myrna and John, and a daughter-in law, Jerilyn Thee.
