Obituary of Beverly Sporrer

A private family Mass of Christian Burial for Beverly Sporrer, age 91, of Milford, will be held Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 8:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed on the St. Joseph Catholic Church webiste as well as the church's facebook page.

Catholic Daughters will lead the Rosary on Friday, November 6th at 3:30PM at St. Joseph Parish Center followed by a visitation. The Beverly Sporrer family is humbled by all of the thoughts and prayers. Due to Covid-19 concerns, the family will not attend the public visitation and are grateful that there will be live streaming of the funeral mass made available by St. Joseph's Catholic Church. They hope to have a celebration of Beverly's life sometime when everyone can safely enjoy reconnecting with family and friends.

Beverly Mae Drown Sporrer was born May 14, 1929, to Clifford "Bud" and Mae (Hauge) Drown in Fostoria, IA. She graduated from Milford High School in 1946. She attended Mankato Commercial College and then returned to Milford where she worked at Dickinson County Savings Bank.

On August 30, 1949, she was united in marriage to Floyd Joseph Sporrer. To this blessed union, eight children were born, David, James, Mary, Michael, Thomas, Julia, Carol, and Susan.

Beverly devoted her life to the care of her family and service to others. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford as a member of the Catholic Daughters, volunteer as a CCD teacher, member of the Rosary / Altar Society, DAA program coordinator, and Eucharistic Adoration Program coordinator.

Beverly passed away peacefully on October 31, 2020 at her home in Milford surrounded by her children.

Left to cherish her memory are her eight children: David and his wife, Sarah of Kansas City, MO, James and his wife, Denise of Milford, Mary Eberle and her husband Tom of Plover, IA, Michael and his wife, Jody of Milford, Thomas and his wife Katy of Milford, Julia Kaiser and her husband Tom of Milford, Carol Sporrer of Milford and Susan Sporrer and Christopher Maynard of Garden Valley, ID; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; brothers-in-laws, Earl Sporrer of Milford and Jerry Sporrer of Tempe, AZ; sisters-in-law, Marie Wunder of Milford and Marjorie Drown of West Bend; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Sporrer, her parents, brother, Dr. Russel Drown, sisters-in-law, Dolores Fitzpatrick, Lois Sporrer, Arlene Berning, Shirley Sporrer and Ilene Drown; brothers-in-law, Carl Berning and Denton Wunder; grandson, Shane Duhn, and great-grandson Tyler Howard.
