Our sympathy to you Naomi and girls. I cannot express how bad we feel for the loss of John. He was in my husband Orrin's class and he would talk of him often. He was just a very nice guy in the class of 1958. It was fun working with him to plan the 60th class reunion for last year. He just didn't get excited about being perfect. He will be greatly missed.
Hang on to God's hand as you walk this difficult journey. Rest in peace John. God has you in his hands now.

Naomi and family deepest sympathy thoughts and prayers are with you. I didn't know John all that well, except that he was always nice and treated everyone like a friend. He transferred my family recordings from tape on reels to CD's and did a great job! I think of his thoughtfulness every time I listen to them.
From an Elementary and High school classmate of John's who has know him most of his life we send our condolences to you, Naomi, Debbie, and Kim. John probably gained the most fame of anyone in our school with his bands and yet maintained his integrity and generosity and community leadership to the end. He was truly a fine man.

We are so saddened to hear about John's passing. Bob entered the hospital the same evening, we can hardly believe that he has left us. Always a smile, always a song, always positive and always willing to help out wherever he could. Our thanks for all the times he performed for Discovery house porch parties. May God hold him in the Hallow of His Hand, until we meet again..
I remember John from way back when he and his band played at the Sioux Valley Log Cabin. That was a long time ago but loved his music. Prayers for your family
Naomi and family, the last message I received from John he said he was home and hoping to get back to Rock The Roof soon. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers.Hugs all around,Trudy
John was a visionary, organizer, and leader who was instrumental in starting many bands, IGL Recording Company, The Iowa Rock and Roll Music Association and Museum and many other ventures. We have always been proud to call John and Naomi good friends and enjoyed many good times with the recording studio, Rock the Roof, Laughlin, NV, and all the stories that we shared. Naomi, Debbie, Kim, and family, we share your sorrow, we will miss Johnny, and will always treasure memories of the good times. Dave and Bev Peterson
John was a great man and an I inspiration to us all. His love for music will live on in our memories. I remember when my father was in the band "the fortunes" with John and they used to record some of their songs at the studio in Milford. Those are some great memories that I will never forget. Also going and listening to them play on the weekends. I will always listen to that kind of music because it is what I grew up with. Many prayers go out to Naomi and the family. May you all find peace and always know that John is always going to be in your hearts forever.
Naomi & Family. As John and I worked many years together at Berkley-- we had many joys and laughs even with the hard work. No matter John always continued with his music it was his love. . Keep them playing up there. Sending our Love and Sympathy

My condolences to Naomi and family. John will never be forgotten. I remember he and the other members of DJ and the Runaways all the way back in the mid-60's. I had the pleasure to sing with John and the band a decade ago. His vision will live on as the founder of the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Association. Great memories! May God give you peace my old friend.
