Obituary of Melvin Williams

Mr. Williams, 71, from Spirit Lake, passed away December 12, 2011 at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Melvin D. Williams was born February 15, 1940 in Findlay, Illinois to Noble and Genevieve (Harvey) Williams. He graduated from high school in 1957 and served a tour of duty in the United States Army. He married Ardyce Rowe on June 1, 1995. Mr. Williams was a transportation specialist for Crete Carrier and lived in several cities in Iowa, Illinois and Missouri. He resided in Spirit Lake, Iowa since 1992. He owned an antique shop and enjoyed carpentry, golf and yard work. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Ardyce Rowe; stepdaughter, Shelley (Joe) Houston; daughter, Mindy Geiger (Clint Nelson); son, Eric (Veronica) Williams; 8 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter; sisters, Loyette Brewer and Norma (Kenneth) Himes; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother. Turner Jenness Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
