Obituary of Vickie JoAnn Downing

Vicky JoAnn Downing was born to Dean and Beverly (Lander) Downing on October 19, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a 1967 graduate of North High School in Des Moines. She worked for Bankers Life in Des Moines prior to moving to Milford in 1969. She then completed certified nurse's aide training and worked at the Milford Nursing Center, Dickinson County Hospital and at the St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer the past six years. She also worked at Pamida in Spirit Lake for several years. Vicky passed away Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. She was 60 years of age. Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Dean and Beverly Downing of Milford, IA; three brothers, Dan Downing of Des Moines, IA, Jeff Downing of San Antonio, TX and David Downing and his wife, Dona of Corpus Christi, TX. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
