After graduating from Cheboygan High School, she worked as a secretary for the president of the Cheboygan Paper Mill. She later moved to Detroit where she worked for the National Labor Relations Board and later during the war, worked for the Ration Board. Lucille's path led her to Stanton, NE, and while working there as a legal secretary, she met Lyle Vogel. The couple was married in 1950. They moved to Perry, IA where they started a family and had four children. The couple moved to Okoboji, IA for Lyle's job in 1964, and there they had their fifth child. When Lucille began to have heart issues, she moved in with her daughter, Vicki (Vogel) Willison, where she lived until her death. She volunteered for many church activities including decorating, cleaning, and all types of events. She was also an active member with the American Legion Auxiliary for many years. Lucille will be remembered for her love of spending time with family and friends, cooking, and gardening. She loved to laugh, listen to music, and add creative details to everything.
