Obituary of Pat Reason

Pat Reason, born August 13, 1938, was called home to be with her Lord on April 16, 2009. She died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her strength in battling cancer was matched only by the love she gave her family. Pat is survived by her two sons and their families: Kelly, his wife Brandy, and their daughters, Jordan and Payton of Arnolds Park and Bob, his wife Andra, and their two children, Elliot and Ava of Pennsylvania. Pat is also survived by her brother, Byron Thelen and his wife JoAnn of Milford and their children (who Pat loved as her own): Katy Sporrer (Tom) of Milford; Lori Young (Tony, David, Kimberly) of Arizona; Paul Thelen (Julie) of Minnesota; and Jason Thelen (Tanya, Kylen, Blayne) of Everly. She was preceded in death by her parents: Carl Thelen and Ardyce Thelen Dean (and Ardyce's second husband, Emerson Dean). We are blessed for having Pat in our lives. Having lived in the Lakes area her entire life, Pat's relationships extend beyond family to include lifelong friends ~ many of whom were able to brighten her final days with visits and expressions of love. After many years in the restaurant business, Pat spent the last nineteen years as a Certified Nurses Aide at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake. She valued greatly the relationships she built with staff and residents during her time at the Care Center. Pat was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Milford.
