Obituary of Vivian Fisher

A memorial fund has been established in Vivian's memory. Vivian Fisher was born September 17, 1932 in Superior, Iowa to Howard and Mary Leek. She graduated from Spirit Lake School. Throughout the years, Vivian worked as a cashier at the local theater and at two cafes. On October 29, 1950 in Lakefield, Minnesota, Vivian was married to LeRoy Fisher of North Spirit Lake. Born to this union were five children. Vivian was a member of the Spirit Lake Methodist Church and served in Circle and UMW in past years. She was a member of the Sioux Valley Legion Auxiliary as well as with Single Spirits. She taught 2nd grade Sunday School for four years and helped with 2nd and 3rd grades for two years. Vivian enjoyed bible studies, playing cards, puzzles, eating out with other singles, reading, sewing traveling and family, especially the little ones. Vivian passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake, Iowa at eighty years of age. Vivian is survived by her five children, Dave (Diane) Fisher of Sioux Valley, MN, Barbara (Don) Geertsema of Bismark, North Dakota, Julie (Doug) Christensen of Worthington, Minnesota, Kathy (Keith) Clark of Jackson, Minnesota and Dan Fisher of Iona, Minnesota; twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Faye Stiner of Topeka, KS and Marilyn Lenz of Spirit Lake; two brothers, Gerald (LaVonne) Leek of Spirit Lake and LaVern (Donna) Leek of Estherville; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, LeRoy, two sisters, five brothers-in-law and four nephews.
