Obituary of Esther Christiensen

On March 2, 1919 Esther Christensen was born in the great western plains of northeast, Wyoming, her parents Guy and Dora Glover had migrated from Terril, Iowa with other family members to homestead out west. Esther had two siblings, older brother Lester and a sister whom passed away on day after birth. The family returned to Terril after five years of homesteading. Esther met Tom Christensen in Terril, they married and made the Iowa Great lakes their home. Their family grew…Thomas lee is Esther's first child, four years later Dorothy Ann was born, four years later, at the very end of WWII, twins Judy Kay and Jane Rae arrived. Christy's Boats were built, repaired and stored. The whole family pitched in, life on Triboji Beach was good. Esther lovingly mothered the kids and pets, helped with the boats, plus fit in 20 years of work in the marine department of Berkleys in Spirit Lake. Esther watched her family grow, she was a very loving and hardworking lady indeed! As if she didn't have enough to do, she make more hand braided rugs, afghans and German Stars than one could imagine to share with family and friends. Tom died in 1985 shortly before their 50th wedding anniversary. Esther passed on Wednesday, February 18, 2008, twelve days short of her 90th birthday. Esther is survived by her four children fifteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She will be missed by all. If you knew Esther, you loved her!
