Obituary of Orville Waimer

Orville Benner "Bud" Waimer was born November 29, 1912 in Mc Louth, Kansas, the son of Oscar Henry and Alta Virginia (Nordick) Waimer. He came to Arnolds Park when he was eleven years old with his parents, sister, Evelyn and brother, Mike. Bud was employed on the Alaskan Highway and later enlisted in the US Navy. He served during WWII on Guam. After receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1945, he was employed in the lumber business in Spirit Lake for over forty years. Lloyd Smith was his first boss. Bud was united in marriage to Elizabeth Wright Rickman in 1939. He was a member of VFW in Spirit Lake as well as the Mason Lodge in Milford. Bud passed away Monday, September 21, 2009 at Milford Nursing Center in Milford at ninety-six years of age. He was preceded in death by Elizabeth in 1976, as well as a daughter, Carloyn Sue Boatman. Surviving are Dorothy, Victoria, Larry, Kay and Zoe Rute; Butch (Pam) Bellows and family of Jackson County, Minnesota; Bonnie (Merlin) Pauling and family of Waterloo, Iowa; Billie Coffin of Elkhart, Indiana and Jack (Dixie) Boatman and family of Arnold, Missouri.
