Obituary of Arleen Rohwer

Arleen Ruth DeMuth Rohwer was born October 19, 1923 at Milford, Iowa to James and Regina (Schaf) DeMuth. She graduated from Milford and received nurse's training at Sioux City. On June 3, 1946 she married George Rohwer in Milford and they lived in Sheldon for four years before returning to Milford to care for her parents and raise 6 children. She was a RN at St. Luke's Nursing Home in Spencer for 17 years. For the last 10 years, she spent winter months in the home of her daughter, Patricia, in San Antonio, enjoying the southern winters Arleen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Rosary Altar Society and St. Mary's Circle. She enjoyed crochet, sewing, and reading. She traveled in recent years with her children, including 2 trips to Italy. On September 10, 2009 Arleen died peacefully at home with 2 of her children in attendance. Surviving are her children, Michael and Julie Rohwer of Salem OR, Kathleen Greenwood of Des Moines, IA, Patricia Zuniga, Virginia and Malcolm Clements all of San Antonio, TX, Jerry and Judy Rohwer of Milford and Joan and Jim Simpson of Harwood, ND; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one beloved chihuahua, Dusty. Preceding Arleen in death were her parents, James and Regina DeMuth, 3 sisters, Mary Alice, Rosemary and Virginia; 1 brother, Winifred; 1 grandchild, Arthur John Lambert and husband, George H. Rohwer.
