Obituary of Ravina Hintze

Ravina Mae Hintze was born October 20, 1918 at Melvin, Iowa to Sever and Mae (Schut) Raveling. She attended school in Lake Park. On November 4, 1936 she married Lester John Hintze at Spirit Lake. They farmed in Sioux Valley until 1958 when they took over the operation of the Sioux Valley Log Cabin Steak House and Dance Hall. Les was the man out front and she was the main cook. They sold out in 1980 when Les came down with cancer. They built a new home on the south shore of Big Spirit where many family reunions were held. She enjoyed spending the winters with her daughter and her husband in Arizona and Las Vegas until she moved to Las Vegas in 2000. "Granny", as she was known by many, loved her family and was always there for them. She loved to bowl in her younger years and played Bingo everyday until a year ago when her health started to fail. She passed away peacefully on August 6 at the Forget Me Not group home in Las Vegas.
