Obituary of Ronald Ernst

Ronald John Ernst of Lake Park died on Sept 1 2012 at Lake Park Care Center Hospice. Ronald was born in Ames Iowa Dec 6,1929 to Purl & Thelma (Warren) Ernst. He graduated from Ames High School. He joined the U S Army in 1951 and served with the 5th Army Artillery in Korea. After service he was employed by the Sante Fe RR in California. Ronald returned to Iowa to work for the Rock Island RR and continued that work until 1978. They lived where his Railroad work required including Hope MN, Gruver and Ocheyedan and many other communities throughout Iowa. He married Barbara Ann Telford on June 1, 1958 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua IA. His last years were spent in Lake Park where Barbara was employed. He enjoyed golf and bowling. He was proceded in death by his parents and one brother. He is survived by his wife and one brother. Ron requested no service.
