Obituary of W. Clifford Willison

William Clifford Willison was born to Perry and Zona (Whitsman) Willison at Mason, Illinois on November 29, 1914. He was six years of age when his family moved from Effingham County, Illinois to Okoboji Township. He graduated from the original Okoboji School. On August 29, 1939 he was united in marriage to Alvena Barbara Wittrock at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford, Iowa. They farmed for many years in Lakeville Township. Cliff passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009 at the Milford Nursing Center where he had been a resident March of 2007. He was a member of the St. Joseph Parish and Knights of Columbus. Cliff was a life-long farmer devoted to his family. He enjoyed horses, gardening, raising roses, canning, and making pies with the Knights of Columbus. Cliff taught his children and grandchildren to drive and the kindnesses of life. He loved to sing and dance. Left to cherish his memory are his four children, Janet (Jerry) Delaney of Lake Park, IA, John (Tuttie) Willison, Leslie Hoffman, and Connie (Don) Cable all of Milford, fifteen grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild expected soon. Survivors also include his brother, Chuck Willison and his wife, Betty, sisters in law, Ruby Goodell, and Shirley Willison, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alvena, brothers, Wayne, Richard, and Dale, and sisters, Lucille and Zola.
