Obituary of James Bryant

James Frederic Bryant was born to J. Chilton and Loraine (Fender) Bryant on February 4, 1938 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska. On March 17, 1979, Fred was united in marriage to Linda K. Jurgensen in South Sioux City, Nebraska. The couple lived in Sioux City, Iowa and Elkhorn, Nebraska before moving permanently to Spirit Lake, Iowa in 1992. Fred worked as an executive at IBP and Spencer Foods. He also owned and operated J & L Feeders where he custom fed cattle. Most recently, he owned and operated A-One Water Specialists, a RainSoft Distributor. Fred loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed Lake Okoboji and was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan. He was a member of Good News Community Church, the Masonic Lodge and Shriners. Fred passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2008, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa at seventy years of age. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Sammie) of Spirit Lake; son, J. Mark Bryant and his wife Kay of Eagan, Minnesota; daughter, Jill R. Hambley and her husband, Jay of South Hadley, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Emily and Kelly Bryant and Makenna and Cole Hambley; brother, Patrick J. Bryant and his wife, Peggy of Lenexa, Kansas; nephews, Samuel and Joshua Bryant; aunt, Peggy Bryant of Riverside, California; cousins, Anne Schulte of Carroll, Iowa and Bill Bryant of Riverside, California.
