Obituary of Evelyn Welch

Evelyn Welch was born February 17, 1915, in Clutier, Iowa, the daughter of William and Amanda (Schadt) Wolf. She was raised and educated in Arnolds Park, Iowa, graduating from Arnolds Park High School in 1933. Evelyn was united in marriage to Art Welch on May 4, 1936, at Spencer, Iowa. The couple made their home in Arnolds Park, where they raised their family. She has been a resident at Lake Park Care Center since 2001. Evelyn was a member of the Friends Church in Arnolds Park, where she was baptized June 23, 1954. She was active in Ladies Aide, the Church Women's Kitchen Band and Sewing Club. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary Evelyn passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at Lake Park Care in Lake Park at ninety-three years of age. She is survived by her children, Cameron Welch of Arnolds Park, Karen K. Halbur of Arnolds Park and Darrell Welch and his wife Becky of Spirit Lake. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, brothers, Lavern and Eddie, sister, Esther Doss, great-grandson, Cody and son-in-law, Elmer Halbur.
