Obituary of Audrey Frost

Audrey Virginia (Rucker) Frost was born on January 30, 1919 in Primghar, IA to Ellsworth and Francis Rucker. She graduated from Algona High School in Algona, Iowa in 1936 and Sioux Falls College in 1938. She taught school at North Superior and Little Rock, Iowa. Audrey was united in marriage to Keith I. Frost on October 19, 1941 in Rock Rapids, Iowa. She and Keith farmed in the Spirit Lake area after their marriage until 1942 when Keith enlisted and Audrey went with him to Midland Army Airfield in Midland, Texas. After his discharge in 1945, they moved back to Spirit Lake to continue farming. In 1951 Keith was recalled into the service and they were stationed in Texas, Kansas, Georgia, California, Missouri, Michigan, Louisiana and North Dakota. Upon Keith's retirement they returned to Spirit Lake where they have since resided. Audrey was a housewife first, but also belonged to many organizations. These included the United Methodist Church, Methodist Women, Sunday School teacher, Officer's Wives Club and Bowling League, 4-H leader, Den Mother for Scouts, and the West Okoboji Community Club. Audrey is survived by two sons, Kermit & wife, Belia of Fairfield, CA, Gary & wife, Tonya of Centralia, MO: daughter-in-law, Cyndi of Clarendon Hills, IL: six grandchildren, Erika & husband, Paul Barros of Concord, CA, Janelle Frost of Sacramento, CA, Dare & wife, Tammy Frost of Buckner, KY, Destin & husband, Neil Blais of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, Kimberlee Frost of Clarendon Hills, IL and Emilee & husband, Jeff McBride of Brookfield, IL; three great -grandchildren, Sofia Barros, Madison Frost and Nash Blais; two sisters-in-law, Margery Lea (Blaine) Pedersen of Terril, Iowa and Vivian Frost of Spirit Lake, Iowa and many nieces and nephews. Her husband, Keith, son, Bruce, her parents and four sisters preceded Audrey in death.
