Obituary of H James Wilson

Herbert James "Jim" Wilson, devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, died Saturday, October 20, 2007 at his home in Wahpeton at seventy-seven years of age. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Thursday, October 25, 2007 at Turner Funeral Home with Monsignor Kenneth Seifried officiating. Interment will be at Logan Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa 2:30 PM Friday, October 26, 2007. Jim Wilson was born January 24, 1930 in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Harry L. and Gladys (Bell) Wilson. Jim was raised and educated in Sioux City, graduating from Central High School in 1948. Jim enlisted in the US Air Force on April 1, 1951, serving as an Airman 2nd Class in the 10th Air Force, 132nd Motor Vehicle Squadron, until receiving an Honorable Discharge on September 22, 1952. Jim attended the University of Iowa for two years before receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree at Morningside College in Sioux City in 1954. Jim was a member of the Sioux City Scottish Rite Bodies (Freemasons). He owned and operated Wilson's Lakevue Resort on West Lake Okoboji for several years. Jim was the Nutrition Director at Northwest Aging Association in Spencer, Iowa for several years prior to retirement. Jim is survived by his wife, Betty, and her son Jaime; daughter, Stacey of Maine; son, Jon of Tampa, Florida; three grandsons, Bryce, Aidan and Cameron James; and a granddaughter, Grace.
