Obituary of Stanley Lloyd

Funeral Services for Stanley Lloyd, 73, of Spirit Lake will be 10:30 am Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Visitation will begin after 5 pm Monday, October 29, 2012 with the family present from 5 - 7 pm. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Spirit Lake. Stanley A. Lloyd was born August 8, 1939 in Milford, Iowa, the son of Edward Sr. and Bernice Lloyd. He graduated from Spirit Lake High School. Stanley then served his country in the United States Army. On April 8, 1972, Stanley was united in marriage to Bonnie Schoning in Jackson, Minnesota. He worked as a hired hand for most of his life and also worked at Casey's for ten years. He enjoyed farming, watching RFD TV and going to farm auctions. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, doing crosswords, word find books and hanging out at Casey's visiting with people. Stanley passed away October 26, 2012 at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa at seventy-three years of age. He is survived by his son, Mike (Lisa) Lloyd of Spirit Lake and his daughter, Vicki (Scott) Herr if Milford; brother, Ed Jr. (Rose) Lloyd of Harris; sister, Lavona Thackrey of Spirit Lake; brother, Calvin (friend, Kath) Lloyd of Des Moines; grandchildren, Ashley Lloyd, Haley Lloyd, Keesha Lloyd, Katie Herr and Maggie Herr; great-grandson, Christopher; many family and friends; baby Karson, arriving soon. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda and sister, Tina.
