Obituary of Marilyn Braunschweig

Marilyn was born November 4, 1932 in O'Brien County, Hartley, Iowa to Malcolm Dale and Sarah Eve Husted Fogelman. She grew up in the rural Sutherland and Peterson areas, getting her education in those communities . On August 24, 1949 she married Paul Braunschweig Jr. in Jackson, MN. To this marriage were born 3 daughters, Dianna Lynn, Suzanna Kay and Karilyn Jean. They farmed for many years near Sutherland, Alta and Webb, Iowa. Marilyn worked as a dental assistant in Sioux Rapids and Spencer for a number of years. They managed Edgewater Plaza Condos from 1984 to 1989. In 1989 they moved to their home on East Okoboji Lake where she enjoyed spending her leisure time in fishing, bird watching, bowling and golf. Marilyn passed away August 19, 2007 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Paul; daughters, Dianna and husband, Larry Carlson, of DePere, WI and their children Wendy, Wade and Weston, Suzanna and, husband, Larry Brunsen of Milford and Suz's children Kohlene and Flint, and Karilyn and husband, Ronald Richards, of Jackson, MN and Karil's sons, Matt and Shane; and great grandchildren Alex, Natalie, Cali, Elizabeth, Caleb and Megan. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Jensen and husband, Al, from Sutherland, IA and her brother, Burdette Fogelman and wife, Faith, of Webb, IA and many other family members, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Malcolm and Sarah Fogleman and her sister and brother-in-law, Marion and Don Johnson.
