Obituary of Diane Kollasch

A funeral service for Diane Kollasch, age 59, of Spirit Lake will be held Monday, December 16th at 10:30AM at United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake.  Visitation will be on Sunday, December 15th from 2:00-4:00pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Diane's favorite charities.

Diane Louise Kollasch, the daughter of Dale and Florence (Straight) Luehring, was born August 20, 1960, in Estherville, Iowa. After graduating from Terril High School, she received two Associate Degrees.

On September 10, 1983, Diane married Paul Kollasch in Terril, Iowa. She lived in Northwest Iowa for most of her life and worked as the CEO of Citizen's Credit Union for over twenty years. Later, she began work at Alliant Energy as a Construction Associate. She was a member of the Spirit Lake United Methodist Church.

Diane loved spending time with family, especially her grandsons. She liked the sport of football and enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs. Diane lived her faith and continued educating herself about lifelong health and wellness.

Diane was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on November 8, 2019 and passed away on December 11, 2019 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa at fifty-nine years of age.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Kollasch; children, Craig (Sonja) Kollasch and Melissa (Sam) Anker; grandchildren, Carson and Liam Anker and Harrison Kollasch; father, Dale Luehring and her loving brothers and sisters.

Diane was preceded in death by her mother, Florence Luehring.
