Obituary of Susan Garcia

A funeral service for Susan Garcia, age 72, of Sheldon, Iowa and formerly of Des Moines, Iowa, will be held at 2:30, Friday, January 31, 2020, at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm Friday, until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Susan Garcia, the daughter of Elaine (Stader) and Charles G. White, Sr., was born January 12, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa. She attended East High School in Des Moines and later completed some courses through Iowa Lakes Community College. On September 5, 1964, Susan married Norman Dale Clark, Sr. She lived most of her life in Des Moines and worked as a demonstrator at a grocery store for five years before retiring in 2018. Susan recently moved to Sheldon, Iowa in 2019. Susan enjoyed collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia, wind chimes, NASCAR, playing card games and board games and listening to country music. She enjoyed watching COPS, Forensic Files and I.D. Television and loved listening to her police scanner. She loved her family, her dog, Shanti, her cats, Angel and Baby and always enjoyed her sweets, especially ice cream. Susan passed away January 25, 2020 at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon, Iowa at seventy-two years of age. She is survived by four sons, Rick Clark, Jim Clark, Jeff Clark and Norman Clark, Jr.; siblings, Sherry Gomez, Chuck White, Jr., Landon White, Mark White, Terry White, Shelly Miler, Sonja Renken and Tammy Zemler; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; two special friends, Gussa Harris and Joy Renze. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Elaine and Charles, Sr.; stepmother, grandparents; grandson, Richard Dale; infant great-grandson Clark; sisters, Judy, Barb, Peggy and infant sister in infancy.
