Obituary of Dale Rouse

A funeral service for Dale Rouse, 72, of Terril, Iowa, will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, February 21, 2020, at United Methodist Church in Terril. Visitation will begin at 5 pm, Thursday, February 20, 2020, at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a charity of your choice or the St. Christopher's Truckers Fund ( Dale Lee Rouse, the son of Lyle and Irma (Philpott) Rouse, was born February 10, 1948 in Spencer, Iowa. Dale was raised in Terril, Iowa and graduated from Terril High School in 1966. After high school, he attended Iowa Lakes Community College where he met Kay Thorn. Dale was united in marriage to Kay Thorn on September 27, 1969. They made their home in Terril, where Dale came home to farm. Dale and Kay raised their three children, Scott, Wendy and Christopher. Dale continued his career after farming as a truck driver, but his passion was home on the farm and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He truly loved watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's events. Dale also took great pride in helping take care of the day to day care of the farm. He served with the National Guard. He was also a member of the United Methodist Church. Dale passed away February 16, 2020, at his home in Terril, Iowa at the age of seventy-two. Dale is survived by his wife, Kay Rouse; children, Scott (Kathy) Rouse of Spencer, Wendy (Troy) Walters of Lonsdale, MN and Christopher (JoAnn) Rouse of Terril; grandchildren, Kali (AJ) Brudos of West Des Moines, Jessica (Nick) Feilmeier of Rolfe, Bodi Rouse of Terril, Sydney and Cole Walters of Lonsdale, MN and Kaitlyn and Alex Rouse of Terril; great-grandchildren, Linnie, Elsie and Adelynn Feilmeier of Rolfe; sister-in-law, Joyce Rouse of Boone and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Irma Rouse; brothers, Wayne and Allen; sister, Elaine and brother-in-law, Jack.
