Obituary of Louis Cusick

A memorial service for Louis Cusick, age 50, of Spirit Lake, will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 12:00 noon at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family in honor of Louis. Louis Howard Cusick, the son of Howard and Sharon (Devitt) Cusick, was born February 2, 1970, at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland. After high school, Louis attended college for a year before enlisting into the United States Navy. On October 28, 1995, Louis was married to Victoria McKee in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They lived in various places including Belleville, Illinois, Redlands, California and Fayetteville, North Carolina before moving to Spirit Lake, Iowa in 2019. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs. Nascar Racing, dirt track racing, traveling and riding his Harley Davidson were also some of his favorites. Most of all, Louis loved spending time with this family and friends. Louis passed away at his home in Spirit Lake on February 16, 2020 at fifty years of age. He is survived by his wife, Victoria Cusick; his four legged fur baby, Bo Bo Cusick; sister, Sherry Viernes; brother-in-law, Mike Viernes; nephew, Kenny Viernes and many cousins and extended family members. Louis was preceded in death by his father, Howard Cusick; mother, Sharon Cusick; grandparents, Dana and Charlotte Devitt and Michael and Carrie Cusick.
