Obituary of Earl Eckman

A graveside service for Earl Eckman, 83, of Milford, was held Friday, July 31, 2020 at 11:00AM at Okoboji Cemetery in Arnolds Park.

Earl Lon Eckman, the son of Pete and Ruth (Shover) Eckman, was born December 22, 1936 in Arnolds Park, Iowa. Throughout his life, he lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Sacramento, California and Arnolds Park, Iowa and later retired from Eaton Corp in Milford, Iowa.

He enjoyed traveling, hunting for fossils, target shooting and classic cars.

Earl passed away June 13, 2020 at his home in Milford at eighty-three years of age.

He is survived by his nephews, Richard Kavanagh and James Kavanagh (wife, Audrey); great-nephew, Kevin Kavanagh; great-nieces, Erin Quinn (husband, Jason) and Kellie Kavanagh; great-niece and great-nephew, Aurora and Jameson Quinn.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Ruth Eckman; sister, Rose; great-niece, Kara and his favorite horse, Cash.

Turner Jenness Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
