Obituary of Darlene Jungjohan

A funeral service for Darlene Jungjohan, age 92, of Lake Park, will be held Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 11:00 am at Concordia Lutheran Church in Lake Park. Burial will be at Round Lake Cemetery in Round Lake, Minnesota. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday at the church.

Darlene Eleanor Jungjohan, the daughter of Fred and Clara (Lorenger) Kilker was born June 5, 1928 in Lake Park, Iowa.

On July 15, 1945, Darlene was married to William Carl Jungjohan in Sioux Valley, Minnesota. Darlene was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Lake Park.

Darlene loved baking chocolate chip cookies, sewing, gardening and flowers. She especially loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and chickens. After Darlene moved into Maple Lawn Senior Care, she enjoyed watching the birds.

Darlene passed away October 20, 2020 at Maple Lawn Senior Care in Fulda, Minnesota at ninety-two years of age.

She is survived by her five daughters, Karen (Lee) Meyer of Fulda, Minnesota, Judy Van Westen of Adrian, Minnesota, Dianne Gilmore of Jackson, Minnesota, Carolyn Jungjohan of Lake Park, Iowa and Jody (Jeff) Vander Bush of Boyden, Iowa; brother, Don Kilker of Rogers, Arkansas; sister, Betty Taarud of Worthington, Minnesota; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and twenty-five great-great-grandchildren.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, William Jungjohan; son-in-law, Mark Van Westen; great-great-granddaughter, Avery Sargent; sister, Loraine Wingert; brothers, William Stevens, Marvin, Lawrence, Ralph, Ray and Herman Kilker; brother-in-law, Lyle Taarud; and sister-in-law, Barb Kilker.
