Obituary of Vance Krebs

A funeral service for Vance Krebs, age 66, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, November 23, 2020 at the United Methodist Church in Lake Park. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm at the church. Burial will be at Silver Lake Cemetery.

Vance Michael Krebs, the son of Donald and June (Arnold) Krebs, was born October 12, 1954 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After graduating from high school, he attended Texas Tech University where he received his Bachelor of Architecture.

On November 25, 1989, Vance was united in marriage to Laura Lee Krebs in Miami, Florida. They lived in Dallas, Texas, Miami, Florida and then resided in San Antonio, Texas for twenty years raising their daughters, Jacqueline and Madeline. In August, 2015, Vance and Laura moved to Oklahoma.

After graduating from college, Vance worked for Greener & Sumner Architecture firm for 7 1/2 years. He then spent the next twenty five years at Citicorp in a variety of positions from monitoring construction for commercial real estate loans to building large data centers for use by Citicorp. He then accepted a position as President/COO of Mdn Architects for 1 1/2 years. His final position was Director of Real Estate for OG&E from which he retired in September, 2020.

Vance loved fishing, boating and golfing. Although he didn’t get to play golf often he had a natural talent for it. He also really loved his chosen vocation as an architect and project manager. He got very excited about creating a structure that was not only beautiful but also fulfilled all the needs of the client. He gained a great amount of experience and knowledge with his work and was highly thought of among his peers.

Family was extremely important to Vance. He would do anything to help out those in need and regularly wanted to spend time with his extended family. He was quite happy to be together with his wife, Laura and his daughters, Jacqueline and Madeline. Vance was very proud of his daughters and their accomplishments and often bragged to others about them. Vacation time spent with his brothers and their families was also very special to him. He was a good family man and a good friend.

Vance passed away unexpectedly on November 11, 2020 at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at sixty-six years of age.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Krebs; daughters, Jacqueline and Madeline; brothers, Ryan Krebs and Scott (Jan) Krebs; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Vance was preceded in death by his father, Donald W. Krebs; mother, June M. Krebs; grandparents, several aunts and uncles.
