Obituary of Clementine Anderson

A funeral service for Clementine Anderson, age 98, of Hartley, Iowa and formerly of Milford, will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley. Interment will be at Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley. Visitation will be Friday, July 9, 2021 from 3-7 pm, with the family present from 5-7 pm at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford.

Clementine Elizabeth (Bruns) Anderson, the daughter of Horace and Edith (Stroman) Bruns, was born October 29, 1922. She grew up on a farm near Granville, Iowa and attended the Baker Township Country School through the eighth grade. On November 8, 1937, Clementine married Claude Anderson. They farmed near the Primghar area for many years and two children were born, their son, Carl and their daughter, Marlys.

After moving to a farm east of Milford, Iowa in 1956, Clementine worked at Berkeley Fishing Tackle Company for twenty-nine years. After Claude passed away in 1979, Clementine moved to Milford in 1980. She was an active member of Union Memorial Church and a member of Ruth Circle. She later transferred her membership to the Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley, Iowa.

She enjoyed bowling, dancing, playing cards and was famous for her homemade potato salad and birthday cakes. She will always be remembered for her fun loving spirit and generosity.

On July 3, 2021, Clementine passed away at the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley, Iowa at the age of ninety-eight.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Carl (Becky) Anderson of Sarasota. Florida and Marlys (Cliff) Roggenburg of Hartley, Iowa; grandchildren, Jeff (Bunny) Anderson of Townsend, Georgia, Robin Anderson - Rochelle Costello of Palmetto, Florida, Randy (Amy) Roggenburg of Ankeny, Iowa and Darin (Roxi) Roggenburg of Clive, Iowa; eight great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Clementine was preceded in death by her husband, Claude; sister, Fern Reese; grandson, Steve Anderson, special friend, Floyd Lamb, along with many relatives and friends.
