Obituary of Richard Welty

A graveside service for Richard Welty, 85, of Spirit Lake, will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 3:00pm at Lakeview Cemetery in Spirit Lake.

Richard Alvin Welty, the son of Kenneth B. and Josephine Louise (Tott) Welty, was born June 7, 1936 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. He graduated from Spirit Lake High School.

Richard lived in Spirit Lake his entire life and attended the First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed mowing lawns, snow removal and helped with community paper drives. He had a big heart and enjoyed helping people.

Richard passed away September 26, 2021 at Pearl Valley Nursing Center in Lake Park, Iowa at eighty-five years of age.

He is survived by his brother, Kenneth H. Welty (Skipper); two nephews, David and Michael; their five children and five grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine and Kenneth Welty.
