Obituary of Iona Anderson

A funeral service for Iona Anderson, age 88, of Lake Park formerly of Le Mars, will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 10:00am at the Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Milford. Burial will be in the Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 9:00-10:00am at the funeral home. 

Iona M. Anderson, the daughter of Carl & Helen (Heuer) Busch, was born on August 8, 1933, in Ireton, Iowa. Growing up, Iona attended school in Ireton and graduated from Ireton High School in 1951. 

Following graduation, she worked at Otis Radio. She then worked in the accounting field and completed her career at Archie’s Waeside. 

Throughout her life, Iona lived in Hawarden, Le Mars, Sheldon, and Lake Park. She has been a resident of Aspire Nursing Home since June of 2020. 

In her free time, Iona enjoyed bowling, golfing, dancing, and gardening. She loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed following her grandchildren’s activities. 

Iona passed on November 10, 2021, at the Aspire Nursing Home in Lake Park. 

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Carl (Carol) Anderson and daughter, Pam Anderson Moeller and Nancy, all of Milford; grandchildren: Nichole (Jim) Nicholas, Aaron (Tina) Anderson, Kyle (Laura) Anderson, Andy Moeller, Amanda (Stephen) Freymann, Stacy (Chris) Stuckey; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Darlow (Sally) Busch of Ireton; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Iona was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Merlyn Busch.
