Hi Bill, I am sorry to hear about your brother. You may not remember me. I used to clean the restrooms out at the baseball park for Spalding. Condolences to your family.

To Merlin's family, This was a great Man, and one of my Mentors, for the many years I did the Knights he was always there for advice and a push in the right direction. when we changed a couple things he was the first in line to help and even added to that project. I truly enjoyed our many discussions and if you just sat and listened he had many things a young man could learn. I am truly going to miss talking to him and selling pies with him. this was a great man of God and more should follow his lead in how to treat your fellow man. Merlin there is a special place for you in heaven and I know Rita will be there with open arms to great you.

So sorry for your loss. I was a new neighbor to Merlin. When I moved in he walked over and brought me a big bag of mint patties. Really enjoyed talking to him!

Blessings and Prayers to Merlin’s Family for Peace and Comfort at this Difficult Time. Merlin was a “Good and Faithful Servant” with a Life “Well-Lived”! God, Rita, Tom, and many Others are Very Happy to have him Home! For years I hung out with Merlin in the “back pews” on days I made it up for daily Mass ~ he was there daily. We also shared a more “up front” pew, or one in close proximity, on most Saturdays. On the second Thursday of each month Merlin eagerly looked forward to joining about a dozen members of St. Joseph’s “ONE-derful Ones” for Lunch at different area restaurants. He often brought a Guest ~ either a visiting relative, a neighbor he thought might enjoy the group, or one or two of the Ladies who needed a ride! Merlin enjoyed a youthful enjoyment of, and appreciation for, Life . . . right to the End! He will be gratefully “toasted” when the Ones meet at Minervas next Thursday for their Christmas Luncheon . . . and he will be deeply missed!
