Obituary of Dean Dodds

Dean Archie Dodds, a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather, passed away on June 6, 2023. 

Born on March 25, 1949, in the town of Spirit Lake, Iowa, to Quinten and Wilma (Riddle) Dodds. Dean grew up in the lakes area, graduating high school and later working as a water plant superintendent.  

On September 14, 1968, he was united in marriage to Cathleen Louise Danbom, whom he lovingly called his wife for over half a century.

Dean found joy in various hobbies and activities. He had a keen eye for antiques and enjoyed nature through time spent fishing and hunting. A handyman at heart, Dean had a remarkable talent for fixing things. Moreover, Dean cherished the time spent attending his grandkids' activities, proudly supporting them in their pursuits and creating lasting memories.

Dean Dodds is survived by his beloved wife, Cathleen Dodds as well as his daughter, Rain (Tom) Boone, and her sons, Trey and Jett Sheehan. His son, Cole (Amber) Dodds, and their daughters, Kinley and Kylin Dodds. Dean also leaves behind extended family members and countless friends.

Dean is preceded in death by his parents, Quinten and Wilma Dodds. He also joins his father and mother-in-law, Lester and Orlyn Danbom, as well as his aunts and uncles: Zane Dodds, Jan Dodds, Virginia Danbom, Leo Vergamini, and Rodella Vergamini; his brother-in-law, Jerry Danbom; and his nephew, Alex Danbom.
