Rosemary Lee Booth, the daughter of Delyle and Edith (Sifling) Booth, was born on July 22, 1946, in Los Angeles, California. She grew up in the Spencer and Milford, Iowa area. She spent the majority of her childhood living in the Terrace Park area. She loved swimming and playing at the beach.

She received her education and graduated from Milford High School with the class of 1964.

After graduation, she settled in Milford with her mother. She was blessed with the arrival of her son, David.

Rosebud began working at Berkley and Company (now Pure Fishing) after high school, working in several positions, ending as a purchasing clerk. She retired in 2006. During that time, she was also a bartender at Jo and By’s Lounge in Milford, meeting and greeting many friends over the years. After leaving Pure Fishing, she began working in the middle school lunchroom for the Okoboji School District before hanging up her apron in 2023. Rosebud enjoyed interacting with the kids every day as they came through the lunch line. In her spare time, Rosebud enjoyed gardening, watching NASCAR races, and cheering on Jeff Gordon.

Rosebud’s favorite activity was spending time with her grandson Drake.  They loved going to the beach at Terrace Park, playing board games, spending time outside and enjoying a tasty treat from the local Dairy Queen.  Rosebud also enjoyed spending time with other family members and her many friends.  Rosebud’s door and dinner table were always open. She loved to cook and make sure everyone had enough to eat. Many friends and family enjoyed burgers on the grill, and her cherry dessert was always a highlight at holiday meals. She cherished her family and friends and was a second mom to many kids.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, David (Fathom) Booth of Spirit Lake, IA; a grandson: Drake Booth; brother Dave (Mary) Booth of Hampton, IA; nieces and nephews: Ryan (Tess) Vermeys of Spirit Lake, IA, Alicia (Brenton) Watkins of Grimes, IA, and Chad Vermeys of Urbandale, IA, Tammy (Eric) Schilling of Dallas, Texas, Shane (Stacey) Booth of Waterloo, IA, LaLania Booth of San Diego, CA; great nieces and nephews: Lianna, Maycee, and Charlie Vermeys, Jalen and Claire Booth, Declan and Ella Schilling, and Paige Watkins; brother-in-law, Bill Kohnekamp of Elk Horn, IA, extended family, friends and all of her “kids”.
