Rosalind Elizabeth Christ, affectionately known as Rosie, passed away on December 7, 2023. Born on October 18, 1930, in West Okoboji to Carl and Esther (Kiburg) Hammer, Rosie's life was one marked by dedication to family, service to her community, and a deep love for those around her.

Growing up in Lake Park, Rosie was an active participant in various extracurricular activities, including basketball, band, choir, and the newspaper. On November 26, 1950, she embarked on a lifelong journey of love and companionship with her husband, Don Christ. Over the years, Rosie held a variety of jobs, showcasing her versatility as a bookkeeper, cashier, elementary aide, and city clerk.

Rosie's faith played a central role in her life, as she was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church in Lake Park. Actively engaged in church activities, she served on numerous committees and taught Sunday school. Her commitment extended beyond the church, as she participated in the WSCS Girl Scouts, neighborhood club, hobby club, and the Legion Auxiliary.

Although Rosie and Don didn't have children of their own, she lovingly raised her younger brother, Melvin, after the passing of their parents. Her caring nature also extended to the Zinn family, where she became an integral part, embracing her role as a mother and grandmother during special occasions such as weddings, holidays, and birthdays.

In her leisure time, Rosie found joy in gardening, cooking, and crafts. Renowned for her skill in making Mickey Mouse pancakes, she delighted in sharing her creations and spreading happiness to those around her.

Rosie's memory will be cherished by her brother, Melvin (Ann) Hammer of Owasso, Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Kathy Zinn, along with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Christ, her parents, Carl and Esther Hammer, and her siblings: Orville, Ervin, Leslie, Galen, Hazel Hammer Loeschen, and Evelyn Hammer Osterman.
